Student Nurse and Animal Behaviour Assistant
Emily joined our team in early 2014 and brings a wealth of experience of both client and animal care from her previous roles. She has always been passionate about working with animals and in June 2014 she successfully gained her Veterinary Care Assistant qualification from the College of Animal Welfare in Cambridgeshire having previously attained her National Certificate and Diploma in Animal Management from Kingston Maurward College in Dorchester. Before coming to Natterjacks Emily worked at the Margaret Green Animal Rescue centre as an animal welfare worker and then at the busy PDSA Veterinary Hospital in Castle Lane where she started her VCA training.
Emily’s knowledge and skills are very diverse and she is equally at home dealing with a rowdy front desk as she is in the operating theatre and dealing with inpatients.
Emily grew up in Bournemouth attended Kings Park Primary and then Avonbourne School and enjoys spending time with her dog Mitzi away from work though she is usually kept fairly busy looking after other animals for friends and hand-rearing abandoned kittens! She also often visits her parents in France who have swapped urban life in Bournemouth for a smallholding in rural France where Emily’s knowledge of farm species is tested to its limit!
