Fireworks Night Pet safety

Our quick list of tips you can do to help keep your pet happy on Bonfire Night…

Remember, remember, it’s the 5th of November! We hope that you all enjoy Bonfire Night, but we know that it can also be a stressful time for pets and their owners. To make it easier for both of you…

– Try to walk dogs before dark
– Bring cats indoors early
– Build a ‘den’ or safe space for your pet to take cover in when they feel frightened
– Close windows and curtains to help muffle the flashes and bangs
– Play music or the TV to the help distract from the outdoor noises

Many animals suffer from severe sound phobias and unfortunately for them the firework season seems to extend from October to the New Year these days. We know how scary this evening can be for our four-legged friends. If you’re concerned that your pet will have severe reactions to the flashes, bangs and whistles of fireworks, please contact us for advice.
