Dog Theft Awareness

March 18th, 2021

This isn’t something we like to talk about, but we want to make you aware of how to be vigilant and avoid a situation like this ever happening to you.

Ensure Safety: 52% of stolen dogs are from gardens. Secure your property & garden, don’t leave your dogs tied up unattended outside shops.

Keep Visible: Keep your dog in sight & train an emergency recall queue / return to you call. If walking at night get your dog a safety collar light or fluorescent collar.

Report: Report any dog theft or attempted dog theft to the police immediately.

Be cautious: Take care letting anyone unknown to you pet your dog or approach your dog. Carry a whistle to alert people of danger if you feel uncomfortable & always take a mobile phone with you if possible.

Microchip: It is a legal obligation to microchip your dog. It is equally as important to keep your contact details up to date.

Stay safe and get in touch if you have any concerns or questions.
